Not that I know of. Sending multiple signals into a computer while retaining reasonable quality takes a lot of bandwidth. Usb 3.0 is supposed to surpass firewire, but if you're talking about just a regular old USB port you plug your mice and keyboards into, then I don't think there's much available ...

Well I've also looked at the Zed 24, but bear in mind that you'll need some kind of interface with 20 analog outputs in order to put a zed 24 to full use. I use a Macbook with firewire and I cannot find any audio interface that has this many outputs (I don't think a firewire interface with that man...

So theoretically, I can plug in a hardsynth to one of the analog inputs at the top of the channels, send it up the Firewire and into the DAW (for reverb/delay/other treatment), then back down the FW and into that same channel to be mixed, and that'll take one I/O total? And the Zed will handle MIDI ...

I just looked at the r16 out of curiosity. When it says it has a Firewire link with 18 I/O, does that mean you can plug the r16 straight into your computer and pipe audio signals from your DAW straight into the mixer via the FW line? That would practically negate the need for a dedicated audio inter...

Would a Zed 14 be worth buying despite only having 10 dedicated mixing channels? I would like to add some live mixing capabilities into my setup but I'm worried that 10 channels would become limiting. I couldn't really afford anything larger any time soon though, as that would require a new audio in...

Spacious pads

Quick question, I'm having trouble getting the particular spacious/airy quality out of my pads that I want. It's the sort of sound that guys like Vince Watson often use in deep techno... the sound obviously has a lot of reverb, delay, and stereo panning, but it's still rather up front and clear, the...

everyone works differently but what works for me is live tweaking. once ive got a loop which is rhythmically interesting and tight, and the elements are all in their own frequency space, i assign controls to as many elements and parameters as possible, and just find interesting possibilities for tw...
