I agree with the sentiment. This minimal techno lark is piss easy to do! If it wasn't easy we wouldn't have so many "minimal" tracks being released - the vast majority of which are shite.

Monitors

Up until now I've been using my stereo speakers for monitoring. I think to take it to the next level I need to get myself some decent monitors. Don't know what to go for (active/passive, nearfield, etc...) What are people out there using? Any recomends?

The USB ports just shorted out. Apparently a common problem with Compaq 900's - flawed design I guess. Perhaps the word "fried" is not the most appropriate to use.
