Is there any advantage to keep percussion or other samples in stereo if left and right channel are the same ?

dont know, i usually put all perc sounds in mono.

btw, sorry for hijacking but is there anyway to record mono in ableton cause so far i tried everything and i cant seem to figure it out.

Put the utility on the master channel and set the width to 0%. There is a preset for it too under the utility effect.

are you serious about the mono percussions... mmm... listen to some of your favorite tracks in headphones other than your own. :roll:

To keep a kick mono okay.
But other percussion really needs panning though.
No need setting it to mono and then putting it back to stereo in my opinion.

Only things you don't pan can be set to mono (and in my case that aint much).

um, why would you convert something as percussion into mono and then pan it stereo..it really doesn't have any sense.
Drop the idea of becoming someone else, because you are already a masterpiece.
