my friend just made a very solid track on a used 50 dollar computer running fruity loops. (nothing more punk rock than 50 dollar gear) so fck what you heard. fruity loops is legit.

besides sleeparchive only uses rebirth (a free program now) and reason..
he re-wires it to ableton live.. but only to use some of the efx on there. .

Agreed, I know that there are a lot of big names that use FL. I've never used it personally, so I can't comment, but don't worry about what other people are using...just use what feel comfortable with. It's not the program that will be writing good tracks ;)

I have always liked fl studio for its "toy" like ease. However, It still lacks something for me. Its almost like working with one or two of the instruments in logic. Fun to make beats with though..

i use since years,
but only for drumpatterns or easy/quick loops.
i find the price very fair for what it can do.
i would not produce a whole track on lit,
but have it still installed and use it sometimes....

hm well FLstudio is useful to create drums/perc loops and very good for 4/4 based music.
My opinion is that it's cool using it as vsti plug in threw cubase.

But what about FL's sound engine?
crappy? :)
