preferable entirely your own..

it's much more rewarding...

& gratifying.
All Ricardo Villalobos records inspires me, but i dont expect him releasing material every month. I just recently start diggin on Bruno Prunsato stuff, wich is something similar to ricardo style. I also produce my own tracks and that helps me to refresh my ears but im still in the trial and error process.

if you like ricardo - check out his public mixes and/or other sets with track list. then seek out those artist / labels..

that should keep you busy for about 5 years...

Where exactly could I find these Ricardo mixes? Simply googling his name would hardly be very fruitful?

lots of good music is shared right here on this website...more-so in the "netlabels" forum 8)

not everything has to be glam techno...or hipmnml. sometimes music can just....be...

and i agree...you have to always be on the lookout for new music yourself. constantly dig. don't rely on somebody else to show you good, quality music forever!

to find new music:

go to clubs.
make friends with people who like music.
get your hands on promos or round ups from distributors.
download podcasts.
be open minded.

always worked for me.

agreed. most minimal is sh!t. 95% of the sets I hear in this forum bore me to tears in about half an hour, including stuff by all kinds of big name DJs. Maybe only 5% of that 5% will be memorable enough to really keep around in my collection. I search many, many hours to come up with two or three good new releases to buy for my collection.

but that 5% and those 3 releases still make it worthwhile. Nobody said that true art is supposed to be easy or plentiful; therein lies an indication of its value. I think it's pretty much always been this way.
