Anyway, as everyone says: stay away from Vista and it doesn't matter much which you take. XP has run stable on my laptop always, and although many people claim that Mac is stable and more trustworthy then Windows, I've seen Mac often do some strange unexpected things.
But I like both. For production I'm going Mac next year (well, actually because of Logic). But for dj'ing, I've been playing with a basic HP laptop with WinXP and have played sets of up to 12 hours, and never let me down (yet).

if you're choosing pc, choose a good brand and not the cheapest alternatives ... hi-end dell, hp and asus are nice, vaios aswell ..
