i just heard jay haze+argenis play live wednesday night...jay had the blue one, which he was playing the drum sound with...and i never heard watergate's soundsystem rock like this! what a bomb!
probably the best liveset i've ever heard(more than 2 hrs..)

I use my emx-1 for a lot of my producing...can get some nice sounds going with the tweek knobs

i've had the esx1 for two years now.

since you're asking which one of the electribes is best suitable in combo with ableton, i say go with the esx most definitely.

its a sampler, its warping and slicing algos are cool and have different charecter compared to ableton's. modulation is also very smooth on it provided by some slick envelopes and controllable lfo (although not dual, but task is sufficed for with the handy multiple delay efx and ability to set the lfo phase). all this plus the tubes on the outputs... come on.

its gonna be a sad day when my esx dies.

The EMX-1 is a monster!!!
That thing makes some freaknasty noises.
I recommend one, it's decent for the price and the kick drums you can make on it are brutal.
