I have nothing but problems with maudio.
The RME is definetly the best sh!t.
I'm running some ECHO stuff, used the old GINA 24 and the indigo IO on the laptop. Too me they have been solid. but i'm actually thinking of upgrading to something with a little more beef.

Thanks Torque. The CS80v seems to have the closest sound. Its quite expensive CPU wise though... but I love all the little tweaks you can make. Its quite a machine. and well actually I haven't noticed any serious sound degradation issues in ableton, but I haven't also recorded anything directly into it. :roll: As the man said, its not essentially meant for multitracking... I would say that the work flow is just quite different on laptop+mpd vs mpc. On the MPC everything is really built around using those sample pads in a live format.
