The RME is definetly the best sh!t.

I'm running some ECHO stuff, used the old GINA 24 and the indigo IO on the laptop. Too me they have been solid. but i'm actually thinking of upgrading to something with a little more beef.

I would say that the work flow is just quite different on laptop+mpd vs mpc. On the MPC everything is really built around using those sample pads in a live format.
