Which Soundcard (producing maybe also for playing live)

Post by diefenwald »

Got a Problem ...

I need a new soundcard for producing with Ableton... right, there are many good products.

I´ve got a Laptop and a PC .... PC a little bit old but with new RAM (2Gb)and 2,6 Ghz he will do is work well.

So my question is: several People said that an external soundcard is always expensiver and not so stable like a PC Soundcard (internal).

I will focous on producing at home ... Laptop or PC.... good compromise is an external Soundcard.... i can use it with pc and with the laptop.... 95 % of time i need the soundcard at home...

Any suggestions ??

what doi you think about following products:
RME RME 9632 HDSP or M-Audio(external) , EMu (external)

thx for help

I use the MOTU Ultralite, which I think could be a good solution as well. Firewire interface that can use on both your Mac and PC.

I've got the Motu Ultralite, and it's fantastic. I've also heard nothing but good things about RME, so I think whichever you choose you'll end up with a really nice one.
