Clink 002 is the production and collaborative debut of Camea and Insideout aka Grant Aaron, owners of this new imprint. It is an excellent follow-up to the surprise hit by the Afternoon Coffee Boys on Clink 001, Dark Blend, which held rank on the infamous Grooves.de chart at #12. The A1 track of this EP, Nothing Shocking, is an emotional tune aimed to capture the tenderness of the late night minimal vibe. It's simple and euphoric melodic tones, layered over a jacking bass drum pattern, makes this a unique and irresistible color for a DJs canvas. The Afternoon Coffee Boys offer a great remix, bringing their sought after big room sound to the arrangement.

On the B-side, Azimuth is a housier tune with some attitude. It smoothly transfers between a bass line dominated phrase with clicks and pops to a sassy and jumpy eighth note rhythm pattern. Together these two ideas create an upbeat minimal sound to kick up the vibe from the dark tunes that are swarming EPs right now. For B2, Tim Xavier provides an absolutely floor burning remix that raises the energy of this release on multiple levels. Tim's techno/Chicago/minimal hybrid sound is definitely in demand right now, and this remix gets him even more bonus stars on the on the cool chart.

I got this white label the other day. The A1 is definitely the standout track. Gonna give it a whirl a few times for sure.
