Audiointerfaces - which one

Post by kujoma »

Hi there

I need an audiointerface for my laptop. What I have to look at? I need DSP Processors (which works like a second cpu for vst plugins or not?) but not many in / outputs because i don't use external synthesizers or analog audio interfaces. Any hints? It's my first audiointerface.

Thanks

The E-Mu 1616 and 1616m Cardbus interfaces have built in DSP effects. A DSP processor doesn't work like a 2nd CPU for VSTs though. It merely has its own set of effects, and if you use them instead of VST plugins it might take some load off your CPU. The effects on the 1616 aren't incredible, but usable I guess.

Oh and they don't work on Apple Macs.

There is a TC powercore that is firewire, as well. You have to use their plugins though.

Maybe one of the Creamware scope cards is what you need
