Amusing chat with guy who runs filesharing site electrobuzz

Post by lejockey »

thought you might like to see the transcript of a facebook message conversation between myself and the guy from electrobuzz. After seeing music of mine on there, and music by people I admire/respect I decided to comment on their facebook page. Every time they posted a link to a new download, I commented 'Thieves' under it. This is what he wrote me:

Stop Spam

Johny Davies 25 February at 10:39
Stop allowing illegal downloads

Geo Electrobuzz 25 February at 10:40 Report
How are you?

Johny Davies 25 February at 10:40
better than you

Geo Electrobuzz 25 February at 10:41 Report
Sure..
But please stop spam in our fun page.

Johny Davies 25 February at 10:43
Its not fun though, the people download the music illegally and it is killing the music scene you claim to love.

Geo Electrobuzz 25 February at 10:44 Report
Music is free don't forget that never

Johny Davies 25 February at 10:45
Music hasn't been free since the early ages. The paper it was written on costs money. The equipment needed to write it these days costs money. It is definitely not free.

I havent heard back from him yet, but I would encourage all of you to go to the electrobuzz facebook page and comment 'thieves' on the releases.

I sent a complaint to facebook but it seems difficult as they arent hosting anything on facebook, but linking to their own website. Any ideas how to get their site shut down? I know getting one sit shut down is just a small drop in the ocean but this mission became a bit personal for me really.

I did just think about that actually, there was something the wikileaks guys did where they overloaded the servers of mastercard etc by running a program that continually refreshes the browser to the point of overloading? Anyone know how to do this?
