When the project just wont finish

Post by swarlied »

Hi,

how do you deal with projects which have some great elements involved but you are sticking somewhere and it seems hard to finish it? I am sure you all know them. Sometimes you finish a track in 2 sessions, thats great. But some will never end. And thats a pitty.

What are the reasons? How do you deal with them? Do you try to finish them or do you just leave them alone, sending them into the nirvana of your harddisc? Sometimes its realy not satisfying, because I have projects around I used to love a lot , took a lot of time but never got that ready for releasing.

bounce the great elements you got. Make a 'sample pack' out of it. Just let them stay on your harddisc. you might get inspired by those 4 bars you made 2 years ago!

Loop the good part and release it as a "DJ tool"

delete all the elements except the ones that you really like and start over from scratch. i mostly keep them resting for a week too so i can start with a clear mind again.

I'd recommend this as well.
