sequentix cirklon

Post by AK »

Anyone seen this? It's a hardware sequencer, only a brief description from the manufactures site but looks cool, 5 midi ins/outs and from what I gather, able to sequence analogue gear. On my phone so can't link it but it's something I want to check out as I'm in the market for a hardware seq (was considering the mpc route)

looks decent with the righ bases coverd. can't argue with the hardware route.

there's someone selling a Latronic Notron Mk.II on muffwiggler forum btw. I was always interested by them but they never pop up for sale really. Fascinating from the point of view of sequencing pitches. (tho 1 channel only i think)

Seems similar to lives session view doesnt it. Around a grand is a bit of an expense for a sequencer though (at least I think so) need to put orders in too from what I can gather. Maybe SOS will do a review?

Yeah, decided on everything but a sequencer. The mpc 500 is only around £350 new, more than enough for me. Think this is more of a luxury item/gear porn. Not enough info on it yet for me, at least not to part with nearly a grand!

it doesn't seem like the sequantix offers anything really innovative or creatively inspiring. But it seems functional. (i'm no expert on hardware sequencing, and I'm not too familiar with what you're looking for)

Check out the Latronic if you can, it's quite mysterious about functionality becuase they're so rare, but there are some very unique features that you might like. Especially with sequenced transposition. I have a feeling it was used in Ricardo Villalobos' 'Ichso', if you know that track. (although the Norton is even more expnsive... asking price of €1600 !!!)

also this post requires a 'modular has the best sequencers' answer. :)

To be honest, im just after pattern based non linear sequencing but with the ability to do linear arrangements if I wish. Most of my budget is going on synths, drum machines and a new mixer.

For my purposes, I could even get away with a much more primitive sequencer like an alesis mmt8, but that's cutting it.

i'm just saying about what i would be excited by. didn't pay too much attention to your actual aims, sorry.

banging on about modular was semi justifed, however. but yeah, you need to do your own thing with music. so apologies for that also.

hopefully someone will be able to usefully comment on this sequantix machine.

That's cool, wasn't a topic about me, I just happened to mention I was looking for a hardware sequencer.

I just stumbled across this whilst reading something. Too early it seems for any sort of evolved opinion on it.
