So none of you think that the genre of minimal techno owes it's ass to Juan Atkins? Who do you think created techno Richie Hawtin?
This has nothing to do with Detroit, this has to do with a chance to give an actual innovator in electronic music a chance at recognition that he has deserved for longer than some of the people on this board have been alive.

we all know UR's contribution in electronic music.
most of us greatly respect the detroit techno fathers.
but i remember those guys back in the days were wearing masks, hiding
themselves from publicity, claiming to be THE 'real underground' posse.
so what's the deal now boys ?

still, recognition shouldn't be begged around boards and chatrooms.
i don't even think an artist like Juan needs that. it's just 'cheap'.
