nord micro modular

Post by ::BLM:: »

anyone got one of these? thinking of picking the smaller version up as they are pretty cheap. Anyone had any issues with polyphony as I read somewhere it struggles?!

Yep I've got one, had it a few years, and I'll never sell it.
It's such a useful, versatile little box, even if you never use it as a synth.
All sorts of nice fx processors and filters in there.
As a synth it has limited polyphony, it's fine on simple patches, but for complex stuff it's basically a monosynth.

There's a forum and patch archieve here.

i have one since it came out :) as stated above its actually a monosynth.
the polyphonic patches are really basic and not interesting. if you use less than 50% cpu usage you can have 2 voices...less than 33% 3 voices etc...fun starts with complex patches....
techno made me do it

I have one... i was thinking on selling (actually posted here) it but i'm too atatched to this machine i don't think i'd feel ok for 500 usd or so which is their overall price now.

It is my first and only hardware synth... i can create some polyphonic patches just enough to craft thick sounds, of course it is limited but you can sample it and then posibilities are great.

For 1 to 4 voice patches is great, it is an infinite world of sounds with the characteristic clavia timber.

Great machine.
