Synth presets

Post by Renze »

I know part of making electronic music means creating your own unique interesting sounds from your synthesizer, but how do you guys think about using factory presets of synths in your music? Most of them are sh!t, but sometimes I find presets that I like and I just use them (maybe tweak a little)...

And how do you guys usually build your sounds? Do you work them from scratch or do you take a preset and build from there?

best way would be to diss all of your synths and focus only on one...that way you'll learn it inside out and make wonderful things. any synth can basicly do every sound imaginable if you know how to model it.

usually start up with some preset i like/fits in the mood atm and then tweak the sh!t out of it. In most cases end up with something absolutely different :)

I find the best way to learn, is by taking them apart too gain knowledge on how they work ;) presets in most synths are just a starting place Or think of them as building blocks....for your own sound.
