how many of you listen to music before sleep?

Post by plaster »

i really enjoy listening to music before sleep because it's an wonderful experience, sometimes even psychedelic. :D
from time to time i managed to gather a bunch of albums which really get me in the sleep phase + i used to wake up brand new when i listened to them.
then again...there are a few which know to take you in different states of mind, like really trippy parts.

my favs are:

air - moon safari
air - virgin suicides
dj shadow - preemptetive stike
soehngenetic - second hand
foo fighters - in your honour [cd2]
boards of canada - geogaddi
tangerine dream - alpha centauri [ i really tripped out on this album once]
tangerine dream - seven letters from tibet
autechre - draft 7.30 [it was mainly an experiment to see how would i dream with their music...it turned out really odd]
irresistible force - it's tomorrow already
red snapper - prince blimey
tosca - suzuki
kruder & dorfmeister - the K&D sessions
darkwood dub - zivot pocinje u tridesetoj
peace orchestra - peace orchestra
filla brazillia - almost all of their albums

what is your story... i bet someone had interresting stuff to share?

Wow dude, nice list, I totally agree, though, more so on the psychedelic side of things for me.

A LOT of radiohead for me. Especially the more sombre and surreal sounding stuff.

Kruder & Dorfmeister - K&D sessions. Wicked album. First disc is chill out, but still quite lively. Second disc takes it down a level, is much slower and more gentle. Listen to them one after the other, and by the end I am just in a coma, slipping slowly into sleep...

I try to avoid listening too much music before going to sleep, because it probably will keep me awake thinking about it

But if I really want to:

The KLF - Chillout
The Orb's Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld

are my favourite ambient albums.
