Research Paper Help

hi guys!
around this time next year i´ll hopefully be done with degree in audio engineering...
but i already have to start thinking about the final research paper!
i was wondering if you guys had any cool ideas about a thematic that i could cover...i´m missing inspiration at the moment

any help would be greatly appeciated!!!

i have to do a 3000-8000 words research paper...
the choice of the topic is free...really anything reguarding the audio-world...
i´m not being lazy, i just didn´t have any nice idea yet...

how about over compression/loudness war?? especially electronic music seems to be suffering a lot from it now days.

How about a paper on Synthesizers? Or perhaps something along the lines of Music Appreciation?
