ableton live djs

Post by Jesse_mtl »

jjust curious to know how many are on the board ?

im going through the change ( from vynils/ cds ) to getting into ableton, clips, etc. but im really pissed off about warping tracks, its pretty time consuming..

but i see how useful it is for doing live sets of ur own tracks and stuff.

any input ?

Drop the idea of becoming someone else, because you are already a masterpiece.

always a problem eh ? :)

im currently using a hp pavillion zd 8000 its big, nice wide screen 17.4 "

why not use an external hard drive, and maybe add urself 512 mb of ram ?

im not sure how fast external hardrives are compared to internal ones, but im guessing 7200 rpm would be enough to let u drag and drop some audio in when u need it ?"

Problem with all of us,

for performimng live without those you should have 1giga of ram, you can forget your standard sound card in pc, its best to buy interface with sound card built in, the goodones are around 200 e.
deep,down and dirty...

If I ever started really doing the DJ thing you bet i'd be using ableton. I like the traktor/final scratch technology, especially if you just have things you want to play, but if I had the time and resources neccesary, I would be breakidnng every track I have access to down into loops and components for ableton. My focus is on my own music for now though, and I DJ for fun in spare time.
