Delete presents:

Alt Recordings Second Birthday
Take Five, 72 Stokes Croft, Bristol

featuring:

Le Jockey (Horseplay, Music For Freaks, Hypercolour, Alt Recordings) - www.myspace.com/lejockey
Tone Def (Delete, Binge Records Green, Alt Recordings) - www.myspace.com/tonedeftony
Sam Smith (Delete, Mangrove Records, Alt Recordings) - www.myspace.com/mrsmithpseudofunk

Saturday June 13th
10pm-4am // £5/£4 adv.

Having slayed crowds in Bournemouth for two and a half years with an uncompromising stance on leftfield dancefloor adventures, as well as occasional soirees to London, Cambridge and more, Delete is finally making it's presence known in the fair city of Bristol. This intimate bash celebrates two years of Alt Recordings, the netlabel we lovingly run for diddly-squat that features some of the finest European 4/4 producers, for whom there is no such thing as house, techno or electronica, just weird, experimental but immensely danceable grooves.

Le Jockey is a rapidly rising star on the UK scene. Operating out of Cambridge with his own Horseplay imprint, the man's passion and drive for music knows no bounds, from throwing immense warehouse parties to firing out a startlingly varied range of tracks at a rate of knots and never dropping the quality ball once. Watch out for his imminent release on legendary stable Music For Freaks, and brace yourselves for some pumping, tech-laden bounce of the highest order.

Tone Def is the wonky captain of the good ship Alt Recordings. Navigating his way without a rudder or a compass, Tone instead uses his keen sense of party rhythms with his profound love for the unusual to piece together the Alt repertoire. This same philosophy permeates his productions, where stripped, primal beats work alongside bumping basslines and tweaked synths. As one of the residents at Delete he has played alongside the likes of Akufen, Mike Shannon and many many more and come off smelling of roses.

Sam Smith's musical demeanour is that of the twisted visionary, constantly seeking to find the uncharted realms of sound, to give his audience a new experience, or just to scare the hell out of everyone including himself. The hours spent frazzling his mind over polyrhythms and atonal chord sequences would send a lesser man insane, but the proof is in the searing DJ sets he delivers at ungodly hours of the morn. Raw, tough techno gets wedged in with limb-flailing psychedelics as your mood gets contorted to his own design. Dance music for kids this ain't.
