What about vinyls for Creative Commons netlabels ?

Post by groovenvibes »

Hello,

Would you be ready to buy vinyls of tracks/EP releases under Creative Commons ?

If there's enough people ready to do it, that would be a good way to support artists and netlabels.

Let's build a "goes for vinyl" chart.

What do you think ?

he's saying put net-releases on vinyl. while it seems like a good idea in theory, it sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.

surely he means the vinyl would be for sale...

 free vinyl!

still would need to pay reproduction rights...

Don't really get why so many people what to do everything with Creative Commons etc etc, while it costs you nothing more to register it with a "proper" copyright agency... I mean, if someone plays your netlabel thing on the radio, you get nothing from those rights, while you might get a small bit of money from the copyright agency every year... strange thing.

In the terms of the most used Creative Commons license, music is free for non commercial use only. Selling a vinyl is a commercial use, so you have to pay for the music !!

Why would it be more a disaster than copyrighted music ?
