favourite fx processors for trippy manipulation

Post by intellijel »

Just bought a Boss RPS-10 on a whim (it was cheap) which is a pretty old and lo-fi pitch+delay+reverse effect. When I put a drum machine through it I got pretty interesting sounds and made cool rhythms. I could manipulate it but I found that there is a really narrow range of useable results.
However, it was way more interesting and tactile than plugins and keeps re-affirming the superority of plugging bits of hardware together to make techno.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend some fx or multi fx units they have come across that are fun to jam out with and produce very interesting results. I am not looking for basic delays/flangers/chorus/phasers etc. I am more interested in unique fx or multi fx units that combine them in interesting ways.

Maybe there are some old guitar multifx? weird pedals?

Stuff that sounds good to put a drum machine through but not to make it sound distorted, nintendo. (I hate bitcrushing fx)

So maybe stuff that is delay based, has lot's of modulation, multi fx or totally unique combinations.

i wouldn't limit it to 'all in one' weird boxes, look for a bunch of good/slightly weird pedals and get creative with aux sends

look into some of these
