In celebration of Movement 08 [ Detroit’s Electronic Music Festival ] D Records is proud to unleash
their latest compilation featuring some of Detroit’s brightest young artists. This release also marks first
time collaborations with proven sound architects Colin Z and Joshua Harrison; along with the label’s first
release from Jaos.

TRACK BREAKDOWN:

Chuck Flask"313 vs. 248"
Written by Helter, spoken by Matt Abbott, & produced by Chuck Flask, this a fresh accapella preaching D Records
mission statement regarding life in Detroit.

Rex Sepulveda“Hot 'n Ready”
D Records veteran Rex Sepulveda gives us another taste of his unique spin on techno with this laid back
number. Rex once again proves his knowledge of his tools as each sound blends and fits together in sheer
perfection. This one is sure to have your head bobbin and leg twitchin.

Keith Kemp“Wormhole Flow”
Opening with a subtle, warbly bass and a simple kick this tune quickly develops into a proper floor rocker.
Poppin percussion and acid laden synth lines coupled with strategic programming make this track a sharp
addition to any DJ’s collection. A bouncey b-line and electro-esque snare rolls demonstrate the kind of
diversity that Kemp is well known for.

Josh Dahlberg“Departure”
Fat bass and well manipulated arpeggiations give this track a stand out sound on the release. A sound
reminiscent of classic house and acid will make this track stick well with almost any set.

Joshua Harrison“Narvi”
Joshua makes his D Records debut with this heavy techno piece. A swollen bassline and bubbly stabs carry
this tune, accented by rising sirens. Start to finish, this jam is poised to crush the floor.

Andy Toth“Flatapus”
Andy returns to D Records with another hot slice of dancefloor ready destruction. This dark, driving jam
utilizes slick vocal trickery and a tightly wound, bouncy rhythm section to step things up a notch on the
floor. His pad arrangements develop the track to a smooth breakdown that will allow a solid, extended
mix-out.

Reference“Strato”
Kage and Luke Hess team up as Reference to create this serious floor-mover. Haunting atonal synths rise
and fall while percussives are pumped into the echo chamber. A dark and distorted breakdown explodes
with an eerie energy that no crowd will be able to resist.
listen here

Eric Johnston“Staplesack”
D records’ favorite purveyor of the weird returns with another signature cut. Early on, an echoed stab accented
by slippery vocals set the post-euphoric tone of this late-nighter. As the track breaks down, bizarre howls and
bleeps calm the mood into some serious business.
listen here

Colin Z.“Confustigate”
Opening with thoughtfully arpeggiated synth lines, the tone is set for this unique but floor-ready jam. As the
layers of the track swell, the introduction of cleverly manipulated operatic vocals catch the listener’s attention.
Percussives are stretched like taffy and oscillated, to aid in making this track a head trip you won’t soon forget.
listen here

Jaos“Three 0 Thug”
Jaos’ D Records debut pairs a driving bass line and offset kick with percussive stabs that make his perfectionist’s
style evident. As the track rolls along, icy synths softly wash over the fierce beat, followed by acidic stabs and
echoing accents. This track proves tough yet diverse, fitting well into any prime time set.

Project 313“Border Patrol”
A heavy techno jam conjured up by project313, “Border Patrol” is ready to get some bodies jacking. A dense and
distorted b-line paired with clever sample manipulation gives this track the poise to hold it down on the dancefloor.
listen here

Tom Newman"Sinister”
Long time D Records producer Tom Newmann takes a break from the usual with “Sinister.” This chilled out slice of
electronica pops and percolates over a crushed b-line and tense synths. Solid.
