[SUSH08a] Steve O'Sullivan - Mosaic Classics Disc.1

Post by sushitech »

SUSH08a - Steve O'Sullivan - Mosaic Classics Disc.1

Steve O'sullivan and his label Mosaic were pioneers of the UK Techno scene. Both are still a huge source of inspiration for producers of electronic music around the globe as well as music fans in general.

After a long period of time and an exuberant amount of hard work we are pleased to bring to Sushitech these amazing classics which were originally released on Mosaic ‘back in the day’

The first part of this release delivers a more house based side to the label and includes three tracks that were written well over 10 years ago proving that quality music is timeless! The tracks have been chosen from the extensive Mosaic back catalogue and brought back to life on this vinyl. The tracks Breezer, No Suzuki and Sac Musique were supported by all the leading djs from back in the day and these djs still continue to support the music they once loved and who have strong roots associated with techno. These include Richie Hawtin, Ricardo Villalobos, Michel De Hey, Sven Vath and many more.

The second part of the project presents us with the more dubby sound of the label. Two longer tracks are at work here, Cheque Not Accepted and Touch Up. Both monotone sounding, hypnotic and with that pure dub feel. Tracks that are still sounding organic and fresh years later! It’s hard to believe these were created with just a sequencer and some basic hardware! Timeless music!
