Mute and Metazoo have become one of those combination of names you simply
can’t pass over. And Cray1labworks invites them, yet again, to create one
of those crashing groovie techno records full of club anthems. It comes as
Cray1’s release number eleven, and as the part 2 of ‘M Series’. They keep
the sensual sobriety found in their last record together, introducing
subtle changes and overlapping layers.
Mute’s ‘Glitch Yourself’ recreates a humid, jungle atmosphere, where
sinuous lines make their way through elegant minimal tech while ‘Memento’
makes way to thumping bases and analogical touches for a clean cut old
school feel.
Regarding the remixes, Man-D.A sublimates the danceable side of ‘Glitch
Yourself’ making an enfolding club song, filled with all sorts of ups and
highs. From Karaoke to Stardom transforms ‘Memento’ into a mesmerizing,
looping song with an extraordinary growth. Once again, well chosen for a
great result.

records this year amongst them their huge 2000 & One remix of Mute on
their M Series Part 1. The follow up, M series Part 2, is equally good and
big in my opinion.The track worth focusing on here is the remix from the
Italian techno don,
Man-Da. The remix starts off with his typical groove with rolling layers
of toms and hi hats. Man-Da adds his trademark snare drum roll to make the
track even more intense while he builds perfectly into a well timed break
down. Adding some rough metallic noises in the break and then gently
sweeps it back into its hypnotic and catch minimal techno groove. A
perfect secret weapon
to incorporate in your set. Fits well to the early hours of the club, as
well as it is a perfect tool for the peak-time of the night.”
