Rendering music on different soundcard

Post by djreagen »

He guys... i was wondering the other day: If you render a track in a program like ableton/cubase/reason/whatever program , does it matter what soundcared you have? I'm not sure because i thaught the software does the rendering, but how does this work exactly? Does it use any 'technology' from the soundcard you're having to achieve a specefic sound?

If anyone can tell me a bit more about this, that would be nice...

assuming you are not physically recording something through
your soundcard, your choice of soundcard has no effect on rendering.

the cpu does that.
