Netlabel tracks for sale...

Post by if »

I know this issue has come before other netlabels in the past but it's new to us. I have always looked (after hearing of this problem) for our tracks for sale online and now I've found it.

http://www.mediastation.ru/index.php?a= ... um_id=2416

I'm not sure if there are other sites doing the same, and truthfully I don't really want to know. The problem is obvious, now what are our options?

Any suggestions, other than emailing the Creative Commons people?

The strange thing is, there are a lot of fantastic Russian people involved in this scene.

I didn't think there were many options actually. I guess the only thing to do is feel sorry for those who are paying for it...I sleep easy with StirSound's contribution, do they?

There's nothing you can do. If you were a major, you would probably be able to scare them... but a netlabel, with no revenue? meh.

It's exposure, let it be.

And they're probably not selling enough to really be a huge financial loss.

Really sad this, not to be able to make nothing to avoid it.

well, you could use their forum and post something like "hey, nice track. oh, by the way and just for your convenience, you can download this tracks here for free. legally! damn, that stuff isnt supposed to be SOLD! crap!"
might be better in russian.

when theres nothing else you can do about it, wheres the point having a cc license? :(
coffee makes you happy... except when it messes you up.
