expresscard soundcard

Post by roebin de freitas »

Hi,

I've bought a new laptop recently and it came with the new expresscard bus. I have a mbox (usb outboard) but would like to leave it at home when I play out. The problem is I can't seem to find a soundcard which uses the expresscard bus. Are there any out there that aren't realy outboard? or at least smaller then my mbox?

The only one I know is extremely expensive and only works on macs. It's form apogee.

I'd get a second usb soundcard unless you really need the extra low latency.

Echo audio do these PCMCIA cards which get good reviews and apparently they are going to be doing these cards in the express format soon.

Getting an Echo Indigo card was my initial plan untill I found out about the expresscard bus. Hopefully they'll be available soon. Allthough I'm not going to wait forever.

Any tips on a small outboard usb/firewire soundcard that would do the trick to dj/play live with ableton?

hmm my live setup hasn't really "materialized" in my thoughts. So let's stick to the "dj'ing" end of things. Just hooking up my laptop to a mixer on location...

this company:
www.duel-systemsadapters.com

yeah, found out about those pretty quickly myself. although buying this+a pcmcia soundcard isn't very cost effective :) and it only saves a little bit of space compared to my mbox...

thx anyway!
