About:
-------------
The KORG Electribe series are known for their layouts and
live performance potential. The boxes are wonderful tools
to create and perform music however they are a little
outdated. The Electribe EMX-1 has a very simple synth engine
and even tho it can go. Why not do better?
The Goal:
-------------
The mission of Midi Tribe is to bring you the same control
feel that you have while using the electribe to a different
sound module. The EMX-1 is a great midi controller however
the odd midi messages that it uses are not recogized by most
programs. The all useful Part Mute, Solo, and others are
simply not usable any longer.
Personally I got sick and tired of using two midi filters/
translators to achieve the same effect in which the result
was buggy. This is the reason why I started this project
and will keep it as a free utility that any of you electribe
owners can use.
I am focusing on implementing it for Ableton Live, however
it will work in other software. I recommend Live because
it is designed in a simmilar way as the electribe in a sence
that all the features that the electribes have, Live can
replicate... and using Midi Tribe you can implement.
Current Features:
-------------
Currently I implemented the two most important features.
-Drum Part and Synth part muting. These work on EMX-1
drum parts and some synth part mutes should also work
on the ESX, the EX-mk1 and possibly other electribes.
-The main wheel translator(for navigation and instrument
switching). This mode is not fully finished. Only one
of the three modes is implemented. It creates a midi
message when the wheel is turned left, and a different
one when it is turned right. This is useful in ableton
live for scene selection buttons.
Usage:
--------------
1. Install midi Yoke (virtual midi patch cable).

(no there is no mistake in that address, it is correct)
2. Connect your midi in cable to the electribes midi OUT.
3. In your software disable all inputs except for Midi Yoke 1.
4. Inside Midi Tribe, set Midi In to the midi interface that the
electribe is connected to. Set Midi out to Midi Yoke 1.
5. Open Up the sample live 6 project. If you want to create your own,
use the push buttons inside Midi Tribe while in midi learn more
to learn the messages.
NOTES:
At any point you can disable the mute toggle messages by unchecking
the check boxes next to the push buttons.
The best part about ableton live and using the electribe as a midi
controller is because you can set up an auto filter and map cutoff
and resonance to it on every synth part, you can map the volume,
the panning. And any automation data that you record on the electribe
will be transmitted to ableton aswell.

If anyone can provide hosting for this project it would be great but for now it's only uploaded on yousend it.
