Do you have some track or intro that you like to use?

I used to use Noam Chomsky or Bob Marley interviews. Warm it up a bit.

So what do you do?

i dont know, if i´m offtopic, but i dont use some opening intros since years, because every fucking dj use intros like a "artist live show", because we are _only_ djs and not artists. and i think intros are out in DJ-Sets (live).

i normally started with some tracks, not especially opening tracks

its more interesting to use some "intro stuff" in the middle of a set

sometimes i play the accapella version of RuPaul - Supermodel (Strudelmodel Accappella) in the middle of sets or the "ohlalala" part of Deee-Lite or from 4Hero ""Mr. Kirk" "Yes" "I've got some bad news" "Your son is dead" "He died of an overdose" "Energize"

If there was a really crappy set before you the best thing to start with is Eric Idle saying "And now for sth completely different" on the old Monty Python shows. An intro is a good thing if you want to distance yourself from the guy playing before you.

I think it's unfortunate that intros are out of fashion, because most DJs today don't understand DJing as a performing art and their sets as sth that should have a structure.
