Drop the idea of becoming someone else, because you are already a masterpiece.

i know BIG producers that use nothing but fruity loops, others that use reason alone, and others that use cubase, ableton, nuendo etc... End of the day, its not what u use, but how u use it.

Some use various NI products/Reason, sequence in Logic, Cubase, Ableton or Cakewalk. Some use hardware etc...

Mix it down to a track and send of the master to:

http://www.exchangemastering.co.uk/nilz.html, NSC, D & M or some other mastering house. Some do their own mastering in Ableton with plug ins, Wavelab, Bias, Pro Tools etc

Some links to artist interviews:

http://www.apple.com/pro/profiles/

http://www.ableton.com/pages/artists/list

http://www.native-instruments.com/index ... echtalk_us

http://remixmag.com/

http://www.soundonsound.com/search?url= ... ummary=Yes

Basically the same as other producers.

I don't think anybody here can answer that question because all the big cats i know never tell anybody what they use so they can protect thier sound and the ones that do take you to the studio make you swear to secrecy.

try experimenting and misusing your equipment

all of those classic tracks

were made without the use of powerful computers

or tons of vst plugins...

use your brain ! 8)
