ableton live upgrade

I have a m-audio fast track pro soundcard, that product like a lot of m-audio products brings a demo version of live.
A friend told me that you can upgrade FOR FREE that ORIGINAL version of live from the ableton website and have the full version (with ALL features working, except for the OPERATOR instrument).
Anyone knows if that is like he say?

no, i confirm it is not true.
have a look at the conditions on https://www.ableton.com/shop
you can type your serial number and see the upgrade price for the specific version you have.

the version u get with m-audio isnt a version with a serial. No, what somebody told u isnt true! What do u think? I pay 500 euro for live, and u get it for free

the version you get with m-audio stuff has a serial, the price of the upgrade is just higher
