Analog synth - Electribe EA 1

Post by The_Glass_Olive »

Thinking of purchasing a Korg Electribe Ea 1 mkII synth. Anyone who has or has used one tell me if its that good? I wanna use it largely for playing live, is MIDI controller necessary or can it be used with the pads alone? Any general comments on this or suggestions of a similar synth at a similar price are welcome.
Thanx.

Oh yeah!! Very much banging and fun drum synth.

They're getting cheap too.

The sounds on the EA-1 are awful, but its great as a midi controller/sequencer. The soft bigger buttons are nice and light up when pressed in "keyboard" mode so you know for sure when you hit the buttons properly. On some controllers like the UC-33, they're stiff and don't always register.
