I have to listen to music when I want to get to sleep. Not listening to music makes me restless and some fine melodies make me floating. Prefer some alternative rock-stuff or some well mixed sets that I've heard many times and don't make me wonder anymore what records are being played. It's a bit stupid I know, but it's been like this for a long time now.

yeah, same here. i can't feel asleep with music and as soon as i hear some in the morning i wake up. my ears keep me awake.
considering other sounds - elephants passing by my door - i could sleep.

I usually listen to music before sleep, mostly Bochum Welt, Solvent, some Legowelt, Lowfish...that sort of thing.

Sometimes I also listen to Apparat live sets, but my girlfriend thinks its too much.

i can't go to sleep in silence... i don't know why, but i guess i put too much attention to the sounds of my house or something like that...

some of the things that work good 4 me are claro intelecto, nirvana (the unplugged) and air.

never would have happened...

ideal:

'brian eno - discreet music'
'brian eno - music for airports'
'monolake - the desert ep' (gobi)

they really don't need that much attention (unless you want to, it can be very interesting to listen to in a intense-manner aswell) so you can actually can fall asleep... very wallpaper'ish....

good, but not ideal:

'brian eno - apollo (atmosphere's & soundtracks)'

unfortuanly I find this one hard to fall asleep to it as it consits of too many (too short) tracks so I can't really fall asleep... but they're very soothing.

also alot of biosphere stuff is wonderful aswell, especially the almost legendary "polar sequences" that he did with H.I.A the only downside of it is that it's a bit too "uneven" for sleeping even though it's very ambient and dark... but since I usually dream weird sh!t after listening to it, I'll recommend it anyway ;)
