tsod,

XONE:92 AS A MIDI Controller
MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) allows the Allen & Heath XONE:92 panel controls to transmit MIDI data to enable remote control of external effects, samplers, sequencers including Ableton LIVE and the Korg KAOS Pad. Tap Tempo related MIDI clocks are also transmitted from the XONE:92 to provide synchronisation of MIDI sound modules to pre-recorded sources playing through the XONE:92.
so does nuo 4´(don't know exactly about that tap tempo sht)
Image we are all atomic and subatomic particles and we are all wireless...

ecler nuo5 is quite ok. Nice Effects, cool Layout, love the big Knobs. And you can get it used for a very good price.

But compared to the Xone92 - forget about the Ecler.
Unique cuesection, 4-band-eq and externel effects via aux - I just love it. If you have the money - buy the Xone.

And for midi sync i recommend a soundbite micro. Can be used with all mixers, does the job automatically and has nice push/pull buttons + it has a integrated sampler. You will find no better resolution.

I have a xone:92.

Buy it for it's overall quality: sound, knobs, faders, eq, filters, ...

Also the send return features are great ! 2 send/return knobs
per channel ! > when using a soundbite
Headphones section is awesome

Don't buy it for it's midi capabilities: they are there, but they
are low in numbers + the bpm is manual, not auto !
Manual says "it will take some practice", but in the end it's
just not usuable, reliable in a live situation.

I just bought a xone:3D with auto bpm that works a charm !
A xone:92 has more audio features, so be carefull what you
choose ( headphone section, eq, send/return, only 1 main mix out, ... )

Maybe the nuo 4 is more for you if you want more midi
control and a good mixer. Keep in mind the xone family
has a very nice sound, but if it's for bedroom use I think
you'll like the midi/dj mixer balance.
