WAV or MP4?
WAV or MP4?
i know this might sound like a silly question but what is the better sound quality WAV or MP4?
well... i am just guessing AND DO NOT KNOW but...
from everything i have read a WAV is uncompressed. MP4 is obviously a type of compression. from that alone i would say that a WAV would have higher quality.
however much would depend on the bit rate, bit depth and sample rate. so you would have to consider that information also.

Re: WAV or MP4?
no. silly questions usually come from people who signed up yesterday, only have one post and ask "how do i make my *drums/bass/etc* sound like minimal?"mech84 wrote:i know this might sound like a silly question...
MP4 (e.g. AAC) files are created from uncompressed audio such as wav files, so the absolute best that they can sound is as good as the original wav. Nice encoders will be able to get the files sounding close, but it's not likely that the compressed file will be completely as good.
