ableton 5.2 shouldn't require rosetta. mine doesn't on an intel mac...using rosetta greatly limits the power of the computer. Anything i have done on rosetta has doubled my cpu. I use a macbook pro 15.4 @ 2.0 w/ 1 g ram and a 7200 fw hard drive for audio with a usb drive for back up and my main drive is 80 gs at 5400...I avoid rosetta.

i know ableton runs on intelfrom 5.2, my question is how the plugin or the audio unit run on intel. I know rosetta slow the cpu...

i've to upgrade my ibook... i can't keep on work with that the indecision between an old power mac power pc processor and a new intel mac pro is big...
