-screw up screwing up
-have your machine filled with virus rich spyware
-yearn for a new computer
-you can wait and thus reflect upon life
...the list really goes on
I might have been a little unclear but this is just a feeling I have, it isn't necessarily true. It's because the interface of Mac OS X is incredibly fancy, it kinda draws the attention away from it's functionality.ParanoidDancer wrote:So what are these things you can do on your windows and can't on your os x?Renze wrote:I actually get the feeling I can DO something with the machine.
I take it we're talking Mac OS X vs. Windows XP here. We all know that previous versions of Windows were crap but so were previous versions of Mac OS.
Here are the pro's of Win XP in my opinion:
-Hardware upgrades without actually needing software updates for the hardware upgrade to have any effect (see Macbook Pro + Adobe CS2)
-Computer games
-Tons of freeware applications just because the community of the Windows platform is so much bigger.
-Better user interface, better usability.
In other words both systems are good, but I fear Microsoft will screw up completely with Windows Vista. I've seen Internet Explorer 7 and it's still crap. Safari is actually pretty good but it can't beat Firefox (at least that's also available for Mac).

Im with renze on this. Especially about the toyish feel of the OS.
but fck osx and windows (though I think the vista will be cool when stripped down of all the bells and whistles sh!t).
Linux on a macbook gives me some wet dreams.
(and pretty much everything runs on linux too these days)
but in the end this windows vs mac os thing imo comes to this that with windows u have to KNOW what ur doing. Not like what was that mac
"out of the box experience" test with 5 year olds or something?

we are all atomic and subatomic particles and we are all wireless...
They cost the same.Zinthek wrote:Well no, not if you don't have money.adam wrote:Here's a cool windows feature:
You can actually stop using it and buy a mac.
PCs start at low end product (with low end prices) and go up to high end
Macs start in the middle and don't offer bottom feeding shitty computers.
best feature of windows/MS has to be the minesweeper cheat!
works on old versions and xp for some reason.
- open up minesweeper
- type X Y Z Z Y then press RETURN and then SHIFT
Now you'll see that the pixel in the top left of your monitor changes from black to white depending if its a mine or not...
good for betting with mates

Yeah but that's not what I meant, what I meant was that I have absolutely no money, so no money to buy a pc eitheradam wrote:They cost the same.Zinthek wrote:Well no, not if you don't have money.adam wrote:Here's a cool windows feature:

So that's why I'm still on my crappy pc.
