Mac OS X(P)

Post by mayzee »

Mac have finally let Boot Camp out the bag.. mainly as a reaction to the whole XOM thing...

this means that you should be able to run winXP software on one of the new Intel macs...

not that you'd want to run windows software on it generally... but for gamers this is a big leap as all those titles for windows will now work (until they require quad nVidia super mega graphics cards cooled by Niagra falls anyway)

although it could mean seeing this sort of thing on a mac, which just isn't cricket...

I don't think its going to be bad for apple... people don't buy (and won't buy) more expensive apple hardware just to install windows on it...

it does mean though that people considering switching to apple may be more inclined to do so if they can use some of their legacy software in converting...

it could also be handy for developers who want to test their software works on different platforms without having to have loads of different machines...

I think this is a good way for apple to let people move over to them and claim more of the market...

ganik - I hate windows too :)
