Bionic Bump Bands previous performances on the 20:20 Vision imprint were huge with the likes of Derrick Carter, Fred Everything, Joshua and Inland Knights to name just a few and this deep jacking four tracker is guaranteed to be just as large. The ep kicks off with “Chiggle” a beefy jacking track with an irresistably funky and massive acid tinged analog bassline with Derrick Carter-esque vocal bits, nice touches of electronics & bleepy bits and neck snapping beats. “BBBoot” is next up with a more hypnotic jacking Chi-town vibe, like a deep Classic record. On the flip “Used & Perused” has a funky Dj Sneak feel with cool bits of disco samples, tracky skipping beats, clever editing of the grooves and relentless dancefloor energy. The a-side tracks are pretty cool to me, especially chiggle with the awesome & catching bassline and bbboot is also great with the bleepy beats, but b-side sucks ass. Check out the samples.
