Just wondering what people think of the tone and overall sound of the thing? Did you find the 16 step sequencer limiting?
Im thinking of getting one to sync along with my XoXoX box and Electribe ER1.
Anyone have a MFB 522 Drumcomputer?

Re: Anyone have a MFB 522 Drumcomputer?
i've been interested in getting one myself, but i've been a bit put off by the size of it, and the fact that the 16 step sequencer only has 8 buttons and the running lights sequence switches between odd and even numbers(!!!)
but soundwise the demos sound amazing, even on youtube, i think.
also i've heard that it does poor syncing (like, one step delay) when using the internal sequencer and an external clock, and that it's better to sequence it externally. Well hello, Oktatrack...

Ah that's a problem, I have zero interest in syncing it with a DAW. I want y grooveboxes collection to be a pure midi syncfest. Otherwise Id just sue my maschine to run everything.Ingemar wrote:also i've heard that it does poor syncing (like, one step delay) when using the internal sequencer and an external clock, and that it's better to sequence it externally. Redigging an old thread,
Has anyone got one of these?
Has anyone got one of these?
Re: Anyone have a MFB 522 Drumcomputer?
used one a lot, they are good.
only used them with ableton though, but had no problems.
only thing that annoyed me was I cant remember there being a pitch controller for the shakers.

Re: Anyone have a MFB 522 Drumcomputer?
Cheers Ben, they seem really good value...was wondering if the sound was that 'analogue' or a bit more 'nearly analogue'
Re: Anyone have a MFB 522 Drumcomputer?
thats quite normal for analogue sequencing, you just account for the one step in your programming, it does mean the sync is bad, it just means it starts a step behind.Ingemar wrote:

i compensate on my modular by starting a step early.
