Just out of interest - how are you guys sending out signals to pedals / units & bringing them back in?
Bought a RE201 the other day & would be interested in hearing what y'all do.
I know how it routes in terms of the DAW & Soundcard inputs/outputs.
But the signal is high coming from the Soundcard - are you using a a DJ mixer or "normal" mixer etc.. or are you just keeping the signal low coming out of the soundcard?
Just wondering what the best approach is..

I've almost pulled the trigger on this a million times. Can't justify it though. Logic's tape delay and a reverb work great. I still want it though.

just received this in the post yesterday
Didn't have much time with it yet, but all i can say is that it sounds great. It can also act as some kind of 10second tape looper. and the Tape feel really does quite something. For example Tape Age, acts as some kind of lowpass filter but with an edge.
The fact there's no tempo sync, also helps to get that dub feel, were everything's in sync, but not so much.
Strymon also have a new delay machine coming out called Timeline which will have MIDI sync and much more delay options... Seeing the quality of the El Capistan, i would say the Timeline will be quite something too.

A friend had lent me the empress superdelay for a couple of months, but i must say i wasn't as fond of it as i like the capistan. It has much more character imo than the superdelay, but then it's really a matter of tastes
btw here's a pic and link to the Timeline i mentioned previously:

I simply send through one of the free outs on my MOTU, and use the external instrument plugin that comes with live. I never had any level problems, of either the output signal being too loud, or the input being not loud enough...ICN wrote:Just out of interest - how are you guys sending out signals to pedals / units & bringing them back in?
