bass sells, that's why they don't do a clap.
the DRM-1 clap is very organic sounding. never used claps until i got that.
and the kick has lots of punch. you just have to get your mix right.

I actually prefer the Vermona kick to my Jomox 999 kick. It doesn't sound that great on most settings but when you get them exactly right the kick is awesome.

i use a moogerfooger with plenty of envelope.
you can get a good array of different textures, way better than a compressor.
