Big question!
Lets have some debate. what can you see happening? what do you want to see happening?
More Live Acts? Less Live Acts? Less Vinyl? Less Laptops.
I want to see you artists play live using hardware and computers or whatever. I want to see more of the general public interested in electronic music people that you could get off the street rather than your\our whatever friend cliches.
I want to see some more clubs pioneer new artists and I want to see a broad pallett of music, from electronica Weatherall to drugged up acid sounds.
What does everyone else want in 2015ish?
Where do you see...Electronic Music in 5 years

3/4 waltz-step with reggaeton vocals
baile-funk with live heavy metal guitars
arp-trance, now with twice as many arpeggiators
witch house / doom jazz crossover live pa's
early hardcore, then jungle, then tech step revival
post hipster, post indie, millenials with even less of a clue, because they never heard the original tracks only copies of a copy of a sample of some mashup
vinyl dj's will become relics
like people now who are still into the beatles
laptop dj's will be swept aside by new iPad, iPhone, Android, Mobile Phone dj's, stream your mp3 requests via phone to the selectah who blends the tracks, yawn
glitch, noise, and breakcore again reunite and fracture
first chinese pop group has major success in western markets
lady gaga overdoses in ibiza
new aphex twin and boards of canada albums
increased access to broadband pushes 24 bit audio to widespread use, rendering mp3's either purchased or stolen to a squishy sounding demise
uk's grime hip hop merges with midwest grindcore to create grimecore
first artificial intelligence produced album + simulcast at 10 different parties playing 10 different sets

New digital hardware synths will popup. Or software companies will start manufacturing dedicated hardware controllers for their synths.
Producing music will become technically even more easier and faster.
New physical format similar to vinyl will popup but it will not be made out of vinyl. An environmentally friendlier vinyl lets say and it will be also cheaper.
Youtube Djing will emerge. Youtube will create a new gui for their video players where you can control the speed of the track, loop sections and cross fade between two or more tracks.
Djs will become more eclectic in the programming of their sets.
Thats kind of what I think might happen in the coming 5 years.

Genre : Lots of crossovers and probably lots of sampling.
Technology : Software will emulate hardware almost 100%
Trend : More people will make music, because of the easy access of software
Music : More music will be made, so you need to look better for your sources of good music.
Vinyl : Maybe comeback for a moment, but wont last long. It's no trendwatcher item collection.
Business : more 360 deals will be made. A label will do the promotion, releases, gigs, merchendise, etc. of the artist.
Tho this are just guesses, cause it's quite hard to tell where we are over 5 years ;-p
