Cable debate

Post by lejockey »

I have long wondered about interconnect cables, and why it is that some people are absolutely 100% convinced they can hear a clear and recognisable increase in sound quality, and other are equaly convinced that they cant (I come from the cant hear a difference camp myself). Anyways, I have a lot of good, close friends who disagree with me and they hear a difference. I know them well and value their opinions highly, and so I am fascinated as to the reasons they hear a difference. Is it just my ears arent sensitiv enough? Am I blinded by the scientific logic that says I wont hear any difference therefore I dont? One friend in particular I know through a mutual love of techno music production, and we both produce music which in terms of sound quality he agrees is to an equal standard (also confirmed by an independent person) so maybe its not my ears? I was wondering if anyone else had any thoughts on this?

Do you mean cable quality or cable type, or something else maybe?
