thx hydrogen :)

I'm hijackign this thread to point over at my first release on rednetic recordings, see here: http://www.mnml.nl/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=311336#311336 , which wouldn't have been possible without this thread here. I worked a bit on arranging back in october last year, and it's really a completely different workflow than doing patterns that are going to be played live. I tried to focus a bit on background noises and a more sculpted tension/release cycle, but in tracks like Paul und Carla you can still here that I'm more of a "flow" kind of guy.

I've started to work on my liveset again, focusing more on the monomachine this time, and hope to get a few gigs with it where I focus mostly on synth sounds under my belt.

Also trying to redefine my style a bit more now that I've got much more experience, and trying to get into deeper and more "interesting" kind of sounds and tracks, trying to lose the "childlike" aspect of some of my patterns and getting them to mature a bit. Here is some example of what I'm going after, definitely just a quick sketch and tries:

http://bl0rg.net/~manuel/mono6.mp3

And synthesis is hard, jeez... :) Feel much more at home with destructing samples on the machinedrum than dialing in a nice sounding synth. But it's making me realize things about sound contrasts, and rythmisation through envelopes and lfos. will keep you updated :)

it's been a long time, extended my setup with a second machinedrum, and getting to know them with some practice sessions:

http://bl0rg.net/~manuel/webcamset2.wav.mp3

Not near what I want it to be (or know what's possible with the new machine), but getting close :)

A second machinedrum? Wicked...will download the sets tonight.

*Edit: nice liveset again. I hope to catch you playing live somewhere in the near future as your sound is so great.

You really should make a release for Coincidence Records.

it's been a super long while, but I haven't stopped :) :) been gigging/touring more regularly over the past 6 months, playing smaller club gigs all around germany and a bit beyond (switzerland/estonia), some in duo with my friend simon/cutoffel:

i moved to weimar in germany in august, and started working on an AV set with my neighbor haye/thevidness, syncing his visuals through MIDI and using a monome to draw/control graphics. we practiced for a fair amount of time, and had our first club gig on new years eve, which was a blast, and the visuals were amazing (will try to put up videos soon).

here are some practice videos: http://haye.heerten.net/index.php?/page2/

and here is a recording of me and cutoffel fooling around on 2 MD + 1 MNM at the after (sadly main recording got lost):

http://bl0rg.net/~manuel/weimar-after.wav.mp3

lots more to tell, but that's a short overview :)

Amazing! Do you use any software for the music?
