i tend to avoid using too many long breakdowns in a set. using abelton allows you to do some live re-edits to keep the energy from draining.
that was my major complaint about seeing paul van dyk live, aside from the music, was the fact that his set was constantly dropping into breakdowns, followed by high pass filters.
in short, i like the fake breakdown.
