Review

Kenneth James Gibson is a man of many different personas. The list of his releases over the past years is way too much for this infosheet, so let’s skip this part for now. Under the moniker of [a]pendics.shuffle he’s visiting Mo’s Ferry Prod. for the third time. “You got my harmony” is not only a title for this e.p. you can take this phrase literally. His sound fits the label like few others. Along with his two extremely grooving tracks “finding harmony” and “you got my” the package also contains two remixes by Tim Xavier and Olene Kadar. They definitely share our faible for “Frickelsound". Tim turnes the original track in a dry, more driven techno version. Olene - with young ambition and restlessness - starts quiet relaxed, but carries his arrangement of the given samples to the extreme, again.

MFP041 in the media

Damian Lazarus (Crosstown Rebels): “excellent release, loving finding harmony orig and olene kadar's mix. great stuff!! ”

Dilo: “A1 and B1 are my picks!”

iDJ Magazin (UK): “US based Kenneth James Gibson takes a deeper turn with this releases for Mo's Ferry, and it's no bad thing. 'Finding Harmony' still keeps tricky rhythms nagging away in the top end before pulling everything back to centre around some edgy synth wails, whilst 'You Got My' does nothing to ease your musical paranoia. Sadly the remixes from Tim Xavier and Olene Kadar dry things out a little too much. 4/5”

Jeff Miligan: “Tim's little rework floats my boat. Also love "you got my". Nice work.”

Karotte (CocoonGreat Stuff): “das original ist klasse. full support.”

Mark Henning (Trapez, Cynosure: “cheers for this! i'll definitely be playing A1 and the dig1 tracks - nice one!”

Mr. C: “A1: Wicked. Nice noises, nice bass line, excellent groove & right up my strasse. On heavy rotation. 9/10 A2: Nice remix, more basic but still very cool. On rotation. 8/10 B1: Excellent. Kenneth can do no wrong, guys a genius. Love the vocals, noises & groove. On heavy rotation. 9/10 B2: Very good interpretation. Good use of the original sounds with extra to boot. On heavy rotation. 9/10”

Shaun Soomro (Lick My Deck): “Love "Finding Harmony", awesome track, bumpy, funky, trippy !! Will def be playing this one :)

Signal Deluxe (eintakt, brouqad: “* Signal Deluxe (revolver, eintakt, fade, brouqade) / mexico Ken is definitely our favourite producer for a while now and with this ep he just proves to be on top of his game, we love "finding harmony" & "you got my" (original cuts), we will be dropping these tracks on every set for sure, nice phatt housey grooves with insane production and they are just soooo funky is impossible not to dance. also tim xavier's remix of "finding harmony" is very nice, dark and hypnotic will also work in our sets. thanks for the music ..absolute support from mexico!!”

Someone Else (foundsound): “This is a really solid ep man. Thanks!!!”
