Nah, the mixer in the Bonnadub clip is not that impressive. No sweep EQ's.
Thomas: Oh, please send me those tracks! I haven't got them myself.
I got this email about the pad sound in the track so I decided to record only the pad:

Use it if you feel like it. 128 BPM, d-minor.

Re: A track done with hardware
When you say MPC is playing 3 SH101 loops, you mean you sampled them and its playing them back?viva hate wrote:Here's a track I recorded yesterday:

MPC is playing three SH-101 loops and a Juno-2 pad.
MS-20 is doing noises and one of the MPC channels is being filtered by it.
Juno-2 is doing pads thru the MS-50 which is controlled by Mobius and Oberkorn.
I also use the MS-50 for some ring modulation on the Juno pad and a sample from the MPC.
TR-808 on the drums.
Three tape echoes / spring reverbs. And a DP-2 for the phasering effect.
Sounds a bit like Maurizio and Basic Channel. Yes?
Also how do you like the 1000? Is it nice? I used to have a 2000xl and am looking to do more dub-techno jamming myself... figure a 1000 might be just the ticket.

victorjohn: Yes, I did some loops with the SH-101 and sampled them to the MPC. I like the MPC-1000 very much. The Akai OS is shitty but there's this unofficial OS done by this japanese guy who apparently worked at Akai before. His OS, the JJ OS, makes it a totally different machine. Check the comparison here:

It's really silly. The JJ OS guy is making the MPC-1000 sell much more, I'm sure, and still Akai is after him, hehe.
The 1000 has 128MB of RAM compared to the 32MB that the 2000xl has.
When I play livesets, I use two MPC-1000 together with a Machinedrum, 303 and a 606.
docindo.dorsey: I really like the sound of that mixer, the EQ is just lovely and if you gain the inputs a bit too much, you get a "warm" distortion.
It has direct out on every channel, but I wish you could send the signal thru the EQ and then to the direct out. Very few mixer has that feature though, as far as I know...

I don't know if it's the case with the 200b, but some mixers can be modified to accomplish that (post-EQ direct outs). Ask your local audio tech service. If it's possible it shouldn't be too expensive.I wish you could send the signal thru the EQ and then to the direct out. Very few mixer has that feature though, as far as I know...
